Founding cohort

Smaller class. Lower price.

This is the first time we're running this workshop in this format. The founding cohort is capped at 8 seats and costs $499 instead of $699. Founding members also get a 30-minute follow-up call with Stephen two weeks after the workshop, when you've had time to put it to work.

  • $499 instead of $699
  • 8 seats instead of 10
  • 30-minute follow-up call with Stephen, two weeks after

After the workshop, we'll ask for honest feedback. A short quote we can share is helpful but optional. You're getting the same workshop we'll keep running, just earlier and cheaper.

Scope

What you'll build, what you won't.

This workshop is

  • A real web app you build hands-on, with Claude doing most of the typing
  • Hands-on practice writing prompts, reading code, and fixing what breaks
  • Skills you can use on scripts, internal tools, or whatever you build next

This workshop isn't

  • A high-level AI strategy class
  • A course on automating your inbox or your monthly reports
  • Aimed at engineers who already write code for a living
Topics

What we'll get into.

/ 01

Setting up Claude Code

Getting it installed on your machine and ready to work in the first hour.

/ 02

Prompting that works

Patterns that get usable code on the first try, not the tenth.

/ 03

Planning before implementing

Letting Claude draft a plan you can review and revise before any code gets written.

/ 04

Frontend design with Claude

Mocking up the look of your app in Claude's Design tool, then handing it off to Claude Code to build out.

/ 05

Building a workflow that fits you

How to make Claude Code part of how you actually work, not a one-off novelty.

/ 06

Claude skills

Custom instructions you can hand Claude to follow on repeat tasks.

/ 07

Working with agents

Letting Claude run a multi-step task end to end while you supervise.

/ 08

MCP servers

Connecting Claude to your tools, files, databases, and the internet.

/ 09

Picking the right model

When to reach for Opus, Sonnet, or Haiku, and what each is best at.

/ 10

Understanding context

What Claude can see at any moment, and how to feed it the right information.

/ 11

Debugging when it gets stuck

How to course-correct when Claude writes something broken or wrong.

/ 12

When not to reach for it

The kinds of problems where Claude Code is the wrong tool, and what to use instead.

FAQ

Everything you need to know.

What skill level is required to attend?
Beginners and intermediates are both welcome. If you can use a computer and you've used ChatGPT or similar at least a little, you're set. No coding experience needed. If you already write code professionally, this workshop will be too slow for you. Reach out and we can talk about something more advanced.
What should I bring to the course?
Bring a Windows or Mac laptop that you can install software on. Use a personal laptop if you can. Work laptops sometimes block installs. You'll need a Claude Pro subscription ($20/month) for the course; Claude Max ($100/month) is useful if you plan to use Claude heavily. A ChatGPT Plus subscription ($20/month) can also help. We'll send setup instructions before the workshop.
Is lunch included?
Yes, lunch and coffee breaks are included. We'll reach out before the workshop to ask about any allergies or dietary preferences.
What do I get after the workshop?
Digital copies of the course materials, templates, and a reference guide. Ongoing access to our private Slack community so you can ask questions while you keep building. And a digital credential to show you completed the workshop.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Refunds aren't available, but you can transfer your spot to someone else. If something genuinely catastrophic comes up, get in touch and we'll figure it out.
Do I need any prior experience with Claude Code?
No. We start at zero and walk you up to a working project by the end of the day. You won't be writing code from memory; you'll be reading what Claude wrote and deciding whether it's right. We'll teach you how.
What if my idea is too big to build in one day?
That happens. We'll help you cut it down to something you can actually finish in the time, or focus on a slice you can deploy and keep building after.
Is this the first time you've run this workshop?
Yes. This first session is the founding cohort: 8 seats instead of 10, $499 instead of $699, plus a 30-minute follow-up call with Stephen.
