Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming nearly every sector of society and education is no exception. This seminar is designed to provide your teachers with the tools and knowledge they need to effectively integrate AI into their classrooms.
The seminar will address the following topics:
Understanding AI Fundamentals: We will simplify complex AI concepts to help make AI tools like ChatGPT accessible and applicable in a K-12 environment.
Practical Applications: We will demonstrate how AI can be used to personalize learning, improve student engagement, and streamline faculty and administrative tasks.
Hands-On Training: The seminar will feature interactive demonstrations of AI tools, allowing teachers to move from concept to application.
Academic Integrity: AI tools offer tremendous potential but also can be used in unethical or other problematic ways.
Seminar Details
Duration: One hour (inquire about longer options).
Format: In-person or Zoom delivery.
Cost: $300
Participant Requirements: No specific experience is needed. Access to a laptop during the seminar is helpful. Participants should have either a free or paid ChatGPT account.
Credentials: Each participant will receive a “Teaching with AI” digital credential (badge) that can be displayed on LinkedIn and other online platforms.
About the Instructor
The Teaching with AI (K-12) seminar is taught by Dr. Stephen Hill. Dr. Hill, a Birmingham native, is the founder of Illumined Analytics, an analytics and AI education and consulting firm. He graduated from Homewood High School in 1997 and then earned several degrees (BS, MS, and PhD) at the University of Alabama. For his day job, Dr. Hill is an Associate Professor of Data Analytics at Samford University where he coordinates the undergraduate Data Analytics program in the Brock School of Business and works closely with the Center for Sports Analytics. He and his wife Heather live in Hoover with their two children and a variety of pets.
